Your Accommodations

+

We will be basing our Ozark Mountains Adventure out of JB's Campground near the Buffalo National River. Although campground registration costs will be covered for this Adventure, you will need to provide your own tent. As the time for the Adventure draws nearer, we will communicate with registrants to ensure that everyone has adequate tent lodging.

JB's Campground features potable water and a very nice bathroom/shower house.

Important Additional Info

+

This section is designed to give you the proper information in order to be prepared to make the most of your Adventure. There are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Check in starts at 3:00pm on Thursday, October 22nd and, for those who would like to stay as late as possible, check-out is no later than 11:00am on Monday, October 26th.
  • The average high in the Ozark Mountains during the end of October is in the upper 60's Fahrenheit (great for hiking), with an average low in the mid-upper 40's Fahrenheit (great for campfires). October in the Ozarks will bring the occasional rain shower. Please utilize this information to pack weather-appropriate clothing and bedding. You may need WARM clothes and bedding for the evenings!
  • We will be eating our supper together on Sunday evening at the Low Gap Cafe (it's much more than a cafe) in Jasper, AR. The cost of this meal is NOT covered in the registration costs. Estimated cost of this meal is $25 - $35.
  • JB's Campground is a privately help campground. The cost of the campground IS COVERED in your registration.
  • Tents are NOT provided. As the time for the Adventure draws nearer, we will communicate with registrants and organize tent groupings for the Adventure to ensure that everyone has adequate tent lodging.
  • Each registrant/group attending is responsible for their own transportation to and from our JB's Campground meeting place. We strongly encourage carpooling to reduce trip costs for all those involved.
  • After your arrival, there will be brief times of traveling to get to some of our Adventure locations. We will need registrants to volunteer to drive their vehicles in a manner that is best conducive to carpooling.

Physical Recommendations

This is VERY important. The Ozark Mountain Adventure features two days of moderate to strenuous hiking. Each of our day hikes feature in excess of 1000ft of elevation gain. While Man Up Adventures always pledges to maintain a safe trailside environment, we also acknowledge that keeping a steady hiking pace is most advantageous for the group as a whole. Because of this we ask that all participants undergo the necessary training prior to the Adventure.

While our goal is not to exclude men from participating in our Adventures, for the sake of group dynamics and the respect of your fellow Adventurers, we strongly encourage each participant to honestly evaluate their level of physical fitness prior to registering.

Although we are not licensed medical professionals, we reserve the right to ask you not to participate if we feel that your health is at risk.

Because every Adventure needs a Guide*

Your Ozark Mountains Adventure Guides*

Let's not kid ourselves, we know that when it comes to the adventure of manhood, God is the greatest guide. There's no greater adventure than the journey towards the discovery of the man inside. God's formation of great leaders frequently led them outside - into the wilderness. Moses found himself and his God on the backside of nowhere. It was the God-ordained wilderness experience that inaugurated a young David into an influential king. Even Jesus launched his ministry immediately after a time in the wilderness. The bottom line: The wilderness makes you Man Up. As your Adventure Guides*, let us lead you into the wilderness on a similar journey into authentic Biblical manhood.
